E-Referrals

For practices using Best Practice, Genie or Gentu software, e-referrals provide a convenient and secure way to submit imaging requests directly to our system.

How to Use E-Referrals

Best Practice:

  1. Open the patient record in Best Practice
    •  Ensure the patient has a mobile number on their file.
  2. Go to the patient’s record and select Imaging Request (or press Shift + F6).
  3. Choose the imaging provider from the Laboratory or Provider dropdown.
  4. Enter clinical details: modality, region, and clinical notes.
  5. Click Print & Send
    •  For Telehealth or Telephone consults, click Send Only.

Genie:

  1. Open the patient record in Genie
    • Ensure the patient has a mobile number on their file.
  2. Go to Letters and select the template Dr Glenn & Partners Imaging eReferral.
  3. Enter clinical details: exam type, region, and clinical notes.
  4. Click the re-address letter envelope icon
  5. Type and select the imaging provider: Dr Glenn & Partners Imaging (it will display as you type).
  6. Tick Send via 3rd party, Ready to Send, Reviewed, and then click Send.

Gentu:

  1. Open the patient record in Gentu.
    •  Ensure the patient has a mobile number on their file.
  2. Add a Letter, address it to the imaging provider, and select the Dr Glenn & Partners Imaging Provider eReferral template.
  3. Enter clinical details: exam type, region, and clinical notes.
  4. Tick Ready to Send, then click Send.

FAQs

You can write Urgent in the clinical notes and this will flag to the booking staff to prioritise this. Certain keywords will also automatically be flagged ie DVT, Ectopic, Torsion, Appendix, CTPA

The eReferral is sent immediately and our Radiology booking team will send an SMS to the patient confirming receipt (if they have a mobile in Best Practice, Genie/Gentu) and then contact them to arrange an appointment and advise any preparation.

 This is a direct, secure and rapid exchange of patient information to the imaging provider. This mitigates lost request forms, examination delays and data errors. You no longer need to fax request form to the provider.

Yes and this will be recorded by the provider that you sent the referral to.
